We have an exciting opportunity for a…

Business Admin Apprentice

(with route to a fully funded honours degree if you wish)

Come join our super little team as a Business Admin apprentice and get on-the-job training while earning a salary. Once you have completed your Business Admin course (in around 15-18 months), and if you wish to continue training, we can then place you on an integrated degree pathway so you can gain an honours degree (with no fees or loans to repay), while earning a salary and continuing to grow your business skills. This exciting apprenticeship comes with lots of training, job progression opportunities, excellent business mentoring and the chance to take this job in a direction of your choosing (marketing, sales, project management, etc).

We are a small family business based near Horsham and we have been providing renewable energy solutions to domestic and commercial customers for 17 years. We are known for our technical expertise and our excellent customer service and we are now looking to carefully grow our team to meet increased demand for our services. We are very fortunate to be part of a friendly, hard-working team where everyone pulls together in a relaxed and flexible working environment.

Business admin apprentice role

This is a full-time role and would suit someone who would like lots of variety in their work and who can embrace a wide range of tasks. As we are a small company there is an element of role sharing but an important focus will be on providing a smooth experience for our customers. Your top priority will be keeping our customers informed on every step of their installation journey, ensuring they are delighted with our service at all times. This role will require excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to meet our customer’s expectations.

In addition to managing our busy installation and maintenance schedules, you will be ordering materials from our suppliers and making sure that all resources are perfectly aligned for a seamless installation process.

You will also be trained to send invoices and put together the necessary documentation for our installation projects, including the submission of forms and compliance documents to relevant authorities such as the electricity network operators. You will then monitor the progress of these submissions and then communicate and act upon their outcomes.

Your skills and attributes

You will need at least one A level or a BTEC qualification and a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including maths and English).

You must be able to communicate confidently, be an accomplished and confident computer user and ideally be familiar with Microsoft Office and/or Google suite. Most importantly, you will need to have a keen eye for detail, take pride in the presentation of your work and be a perfectionist when it comes to checking written communication.

We are looking for friendliness and openness, a confident approach to new things and a commitment to accuracy over speed. If you feel you can bring these attributes to our lovely
team, please read on and find out how to apply.

We can offer you

– A starting salary of £18,000 with opportunities to progress your pay level
– 28 days’ statutory holiday plus one additional day off for your birthday
– Brand new offices with top spec equipment
– Lots of training (in house and external) to support you in your role
– A structured degree pathway with a quality, external training provider
– A very friendly and relaxed working environment
– A flexible and understanding approach to your non-work commitments
– A sociable work schedule dotted with thank you breakfasts, pub lunches and take aways

Your degree pathway might look like this…

Business Admin Level 3 course in the first instance (15 to 18 months) and learn the skills described in the link.

Following successful completion of Business Admin Level 3 (and only if you wish to continue to study), you can then choose a suitable business-related Level 6 integrated honours degree course (36 to 40 months). This Level 6 course may be sales, marketing or project management-related and we would also consider other integrated degree courses if they compliment our business needs. Here is an example Level 6 integrated degree course but we would consider others too:

Level 6 integrated BSc Hons degree with London Metropolitan College in partnership with University of West London (UWL)
